HOST - Trafficking in the Hospitality Industry

We would like to invite you to participate in the survey ‘Trafficking in the Hospitality Industry’. The survey is being conducted as part of the European project ‘HOST - Tackling Human Trafficking in the Hospitality sector’, which is implemented by 11 organisations from six EU countries (KMOP – Social Action and Innovation Centre, CESIE ETS - CESIE Ente Del Terzo Settore, FSA - Fundacion Solidaridad Amaranta, MoMA - Ypourgeio Metanastefsis Kai Asylou, FAIRWORK - Stichting Fairwork, SUS - SUS Step Up Stop Slavery, LSI – The International La Strada Association, GFR - Elliniko Foroum Prosfigon, ANCI SICILIA - Associazione Dei Comuni Siciliani, HLI – Hellenic Labour Inspectorate, and EFFAT - European Federation of Trade Unions in the Food Agriculture and Tourism).

The scope of the project is to contribute to the prevention of trafficking in the hospitality industry, the raising of awareness, the identification and support of victims of trafficking and the building of the capacity of professionals in understanding, identifying and preventing human trafficking.. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the project aims to support potential victims through specialised case management and target referrals, train municipality officials, raise awareness of employers in the hospitality industry and empower third-country nationals to know their rights and report cases of exploitation.

This study aims to explore methods of recruitment of persons vulnerable to trafficking, profile of (TCN) employees, due diligence practices and awareness of the risks of trafficking in human beings amongst employers in the hospitality industry. It is addressed to employers in the hospitality sector.
